When Kirsten and Josh arrived for their engagement session just a few weeks before their wedding day, it instantly felt like reconnecting with old friends. They’re warm, down-to-earth, and filled with the kind of easy laughter that makes you feel right at home. I left that session genuinely excited to document their wedding.
Their celebration at The Roost Event Center was everything you could hope for—laid-back, joyful, and deeply personal. With Wynn Events leading the planning, DJ Derek Galiffa setting the tone, and a beautiful venue nestled in the rolling hills of Pennsylvania, I knew this would be a day to remember.
The day began quietly at The Roost. I started photographing Kirsten’s thoughtful details, including elements she had designed herself. Her vision of a garden party celebration came to life with soft textures, floral prints, and parasol umbrellas I brought along for portraits—an added layer of charm to the overall look.
Kirsten and Josh chose not to do a first look, which meant the anticipation stayed high all morning. While they got ready separately, we photographed the bridesmaids and groomsmen in the summer light, each group equally excited for what was ahead.
The Roost’s ceremony space is one of the most breathtaking in the area—it set the stage for a moment that no one in attendance will forget.
As Kirsten descended the steps, the entire crowd leaned in. Josh stood waiting, visibly moved, and the moment felt suspended in time. These are the kinds of memories I love capturing—the ones where everything stands still, just for a second.
Following the ceremony, we captured family portraits, wedding party photos, and newlywed portraits among the trees and hills that surround The Roost. Kirsten and Josh also took a few quiet minutes to preview their reception space before it opened to guests—a sweet breath in the middle of a fast-moving day.
As golden hour rolled in, we snuck away for 10 minutes of sunset portraits before heading back inside. With DJ Derek Galiffa behind the booth, the energy in the room was impossible to resist.
Kirsten changed into her reception dress and the two of them didn’t leave the dance floor once. And honestly, that says everything about who they are—fully present, joyful, and soaking up every second.
One of the best parts of this wedding was getting to know their family and friends. By the end of the night, I found myself hoping I’d get the chance to celebrate with them all again someday. Anna, Tommy, Dan—if you’re next, you know where to find me.
This wedding at The Roost Event Center was a celebration that felt like home. It reminded me that the best wedding days aren’t always the most extravagant—they’re the most heartfelt. And this one? It was unforgettable.
