the process

Inquiry & consultation

Upon inquiry, you will receive the initial pricing information and a link to schedule a 30-minute consultation with me. We will talk through wedding details and I can answer any questions you may have about the Margaret James Wedding Experience.

booking & planning

In order to secure your date, a signed contract and retainer are required. Once everything is booked and you are officially a MJP Couple, the fun begins!

wedding day

From beginning to end, my goal is to make your wedding experience as effortless and enjoyable as possible. I'll be there to capture all these precious moments just like you've dreamed to ensure you have memories to last a lifetime.

gallery delivery

You will receive your full gallery of images in six to eight weeks from your wedding day. This is where you can download your high-resolution digital files, share, and print your favorite images. Your online gallery is securely stored online for ten years, so you don’t have to worry about losing your photos. 

After working together to choose the perfect location and plan out the details of your session, we will meet at the selected location with 2 outfit changes. I will pose you and guide you throughout the entire session. By the time your wedding day arrives, we'll feel more like friends and that creates a safe and relaxed environment for portraits!

album design & delivery

If you choose to add an album to your wedding package, I will begin the design process once you’ve received your full gallery. We will work together to create beautiful spreads full of your favorite images. Albums are wrapped in linen and come with thick, lay flat pages and can be personalized with your names and wedding date!

A photographer's job stems way beyond the pretty pictures. Finding great light, a beautiful location and posing you while capturing every moment is something that is expected. What you will gain from me is much more than the end product. On your wedding day, I am there to be your go to girl. Your mind is everywhere, you're about to marry the love of your life and you don't have time to think about all the things you so long and planned for in the months leading up to this. Your only job that day is to feel special, because you are - you're getting married! You don't get a 'do over' on your wedding day, so we are there to make this one count.

By the time your day arrives, I will be well versed in all of your hopes, dreams and plans that you have for your wedding. I will be there to fluff your dress, adjust your veil and capture all the moments in between.

Once the day has come to an end, you'll only have the memories that will once fade and the pictures to remember it by. I want to ensure I capture every heartfelt and beloved detail for coming generations to look back on, in admiration of the love you and your now husband or wife share.

what is your photography style?

I strive to achieve timelessness with my photographs so your memories age gracefully. My approach is both interactive and discreet. There will be parts of the wedding day when I will need to be in control in order to accomplish everything that needs to be done, while staying on schedule. There will also be moments when you shouldn’t even know that I’m there. I want to tell the story of your wedding day from start to finish, capturing every heartfelt moment.

do we need an engagement session?

Engagement sessions are not required but highly suggested. Engagement sessions are a time for us to get to know each other in person before your wedding day. Wedding day, I'll be showing up as a familiar face rather than meeting for the first time.

how many hours of coverage is enough?

There are so many factors that go into this. On our initial call, we will discuss details that are specific to your wedding day to help create the custom collections that will make up your wedding day proposal. At anytime after booking we find that more coverage is needed, it can be added à la carte to your collection.

Do we need a second shooter?

Every wedding day is different, second shooters can be valuable asset to your day but may not be an investment that you need depending on the scope of your wedding. We will talk about this on our call so you can make the best decision that will serve you well on your wedding.

how many photos will we receive?

 I average 75-100 images per hour that I’m shooting. I will never limit the amount of photos that my clients receive. 

when will we recive our photos?

My turnaround time for full galleries is 6-8 weeks from your wedding day.

how will we receive our photos?

I love delivering my client’s files quickly and easily through an online gallery. You will have the ability to print, share and download your images as much as you want. I believe in freely sharing my work.
